Awaken - Love, Justice, and Meditation

We’re not going to get to the loving, peaceful world we all want without working through the tough stuff - racism, sexism, capitalism, and all the other ways society is set up to divide us. Awaken is bite-sized mindfulness and journaling practices that engage with today’s social, political, and cultural world - in an app. If you believe the path to social change and justice for people and planet involves both outer and inner work, Awaken is for you.

Process This Overwhelming World

Our practices address and respond to current events and dominant cultural themes, helping us not just digest and process what’s going on, but cultivate our inner wisdom and creativity in how we respond. We believe meditation is a crucial part of our resistance.

Healing from Systems of Oppression

Racism. Patriarchy. Capitalism. The stress, anxiety, and trauma that results from these (and so many others) aren’t your fault - and yet we must heal from them if we are to live our best lives. Our practices bring this healing to the forefront.

Practice with Your People

Awaken is for people who know we can collectively do better than the fear and hate that seem to be on the rise today.

Much more than mindfulness meditation, our practices include movement and artistic expression practices, contemplative journaling and more!

Revolutionary Teachers

Our Founding Teachers - Rev. angel Kyodo williams, Lama Rod Owens, and Sensei Greg Snyder - are leading lights at the intersection of mindfulness and social change. Their books, teachings, and practice centers are pioneering the inner and outer change-making work that we so desperately need in these times.

Love and Justice are not two. Without inner change, there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.
